Embedding D&I in the DNA of an Organisation - Heidi Robertson

We are delighted to welcome ABB’s Heidi Robertson to the EMEA Recruitment podcast, to speak about her experiences of living around the world and how she brings her holistic attitude to life into the office.

“Life is too short not to try to influence, in a positive way, your surrounding and your people.”

Heidi has not only lived and worked in many different countries, but she also speaks four languages and has been with ABB for 19 years now, making her an interesting business podcast guest for listeners around the globe.

She is now the Group Head of Diversity & Inclusion and Employer Brand at ABB in Switzerland, but lives in her homeland of Norway.

Having lived and worked throughout Europe and the USA, Heidi gained valuable experiences in people, culture and politics in early adulthood, which has given her a “go for it” mentality.

As a working mum of three, Heidi names her grandmother as her number one mentor; someone who is not only family-oriented, but has also taught her to stand up for what’s right and treat people equally.

It’s something she brings to her role at ABB. Heidi believes that every employee is responsible for contributing to the D&I agenda, but that line managers and leaders have a responsibility to foster a more diverse workforce and inclusive culture. She’s hoping that D&I will become the DNA of the people, company and culture at ABB – and, ultimately, other businesses worldwide.
