Rebecca is an Associate Director in our Finance & Accountancy recruitment team in the Netherlands, specilaising in interim postions.

She joined EMEA Recruitment in August 2023, originally specialising in Procurement & Supply Chain recruitment in Switzerland, with over 15 years of recruitment experience across a variety of commercial disciplines. 

Rebecca has a passion for building lasting relationships, ensuring to listen to the needs of candidates and clients to find long-term solutions. Using a people-first approach, Rebecca enjoys getting to know people and what makes them tick; this allows her to identify the right fit for both the organisation and the candidate, and champion the right fit.  

Rebecca is also honest in her approach and always offers a true consultative service. She is willing to challenge expectations when necessary to realise the end goal, which is the formation of a partnership between all parties in the recruitment process.

Rebecca’s Interests

Rebecca’s main interest is spending time with her Labrador, Pearl. Pearl became Rebecca’s sidekick during lockdown and was named after the ship in the film Pirates of the Caribbean.

She is also interested in cooking and has been growing her own fruits and vegetables.

Her other interests include pub quizzing, travelling in her campervan (named Colin), and history, particularly the Tudor and Viking eras.

This is an initial 3-month contract to support a critical year-end project, offering hybrid working arrangements (2 days per week in the office).

As a Senior GL Accountant, you will be a key player in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records.

Your key responsibilities as the Senior GL Accountant will include:

  • Managing the general ledger with a focus on accurate and timely reporting
  • Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Performing complex account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
  • Ensuring compliance with international accounting standards and supporting audits
  • Overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

EMEA Recruitment is partnering with a leading retail company to recruit a Payroll Coordinator for a 6-month period in Utrecht, Netherlands.

The Payroll Coordinator will a vital role within the EMEA Payroll team, collaborating closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and other key partners to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.

In this role, you will serve as the go-to expert for all payroll-related matters in the Netherlands.


Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Coordinator:

  • Review and validate payroll data received from various sources before submission to an external payroll provider, ensuring accuracy by performing thorough data checks
  • Manage payroll vendors effectively to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including salaries, terminations, garnishments, and other required deductions
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, HR, Finance, and other stakeholders promptly, ensuring a positive employee experience
  • Stay up to date with changes in social security, tax laws, and compliance requirements, assessing their impact on the company and communicating relevant updates to internal teams
  • Act as a strategic partner by identifying system and process improvements, contributing to the successful implementation of new payroll systems and upgrades
 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 2 years of payroll experience
  • Fluent in both English and Dutch, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of Dutch Social Security, Tax, and Employment legislation
  • Experience with the Dutch 30% ruling is essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs) and a high level of computer literacy
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under time constraints
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain payroll-related matters clearly and effectively
