As Director of our Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations recruitment divisions in Switzerland, Neil leads our dedicated team in placing top talent in key Supply Chain and Procurement jobs in Switzerland

He joined EMEA Recruitment at the start of 2019, now amassing over 15 years of recruitment experience. His previous experience includes recruiting in the Supply Chain and Logistics sectors.

Neil also heads our partnerships and collaborations with Procurement & Supply Chain networking organisations, such as CSCMP and CIPS, committed to supporting the development of professionals in these areas.

Taking a business partnering approach to recruitment and working with candidates and clients in a consultative capacity, he is skilled in building long-term relationships and partnerships.

Neil’s Interests

Neil is fond of running and staying active. He has run a number of half marathons and pushed himself to complete the London Marathon on behalf of Operation Smile in April 2023, raising over £2,500 for the charity.

His other interests include cartography, eating out, supporting Derby County FC, and travelling.

We are currently seeking a Category Manager CAPEX in collaboration with our client, based in the Zurich area.

Operating in a manufacturing-orientated environment, the ideal candidate will have prior experience in a production-focused domain on indirect spend categories, such as CAPEX, MRO, and Facility Management.


Key responsibilities of the Category Manager include:
  • Cover site expenditure and capital projects responsible for delivering year-on-year cost savings
  • Develop strategic purchasing plans and supplier consolidation projects
  • Display a strong technical understanding of CAPEX and MRO procurement, having previously concluded negotiations, established supplier frameworks, and shared best practice across the relevant regional spend areas
  • Work towards achieving corporate goals through cost savings and process efficiencies
  • Manage Capital Spend Projects across 50+ factories globally
  • Create, manage and run end-to-end projects related to driving both operational and strategic purchasing in the Capex, machinery and spare parts spend area
For the Category Manager CAPEX position, we are looking for a high calibre candidate with the following skillset:
  • Educated to degree or equivalent level, ideally in an Economic, Engineering or Supply Chain-focused discipline
  • Circa 5+ years\' working experience in a technical procurement environment
  • Category management experience and project management knowledge, ideally obtained in a matrix environment and fast-paced organization
  • Ability to monitor results against established KPIs, and continually assess and review the existing supplier base
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to engage and interact with the Production operation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), plus a strong knowledge of SAP would be beneficial
  • Fluency in English
  • Willing to travel on ad-hoc basis

EMEA Recruitment is searching for an experienced German-speaking Project Leader Engineering for our client in Basel, Switzerland.

This role will be instrumental in managing engineering projects and improvements within a high-spec and niche manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities of the Project Leader Engineering include:
  • Own Engineering projects from end to end and be the key point of contact for the relevant projects
  • Contribute to the design and technical concepts of machinery projects
  • Create new processes in manufacturing and own new design projects
  • Introduce new and optimised technology
  • Encouraging the use of 6 ‘S’ and Lean principles within the team
  • Guide, coach and develop the team and others you work with daily
 
Ideally having operated in a manufacturing environment, you will have prior experience leading Engineering projects with a background in Engineering. You will also be accustomed to operating in a high-specification and Swiss-based production environment.

As Project Leader Engineering, additional requirements include:
  • Educated to degree or equivalent level, ideally in an Engineering discipline
  • Previous Manufacturing Management experience (preferred in Manufacturing or Machinery production, 5+ years’ overall experience)
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Hold a track record in delivering Engineering projects of varied cost and volume at any one time
  • Strong communication skills when dealing with diverse, international stakeholders
