Kieran is a Recruitment Consultant in our Dutch Finance & Accounting recruitment team, sourcing high-quality candidates for companies in a range of different industries.

Working in partnership with the entire Finance & Accounting team, Kieran uses his down-to-earth approach to build relationships with candidates, striving to understand their motivations for a career change, role expectations, experience, and work-life balance.

Utilising that knowledge, he matches candidates to roles in companies suited to them, while constantly expanding his Finance network.

Kieran joined EMEA Recruitment in April 2023 as an Associate Consultant, bringing a year of recruitment experience in the Further Education sector. He was promoted in January 2024. 

Kieran’s Interests

Kieran’s main interest is football; he spent 12 years at Nottingham Forest playing professionally, alongside players who are now in the Premier League.

He has also travelled around the world, spending two years in the AFC Champions League in international teams, such as the Philippines.

Kieran’s other interests include dining out, watching Netflix, travelling, and going to the gym.

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Controller:
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for EMEA employees through an external provider, while complying with local laws and SOX controls

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across all levels
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced international environment, with fluency in English (a second European language is a plus)

EMEA Recruitment has exclusively partnered with a global electronics manufacturer looking to add a Payroll Specialist to its Amsterdam-based Finance team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an internationally established business operating in over 60 countries and significantly impact the Payroll function within the EMEA region. 

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:
  • Payroll Processing & Accuracy: Oversee timely and accurate payroll calculations, entries, reconciliations, and adjustments each cycle
  • Compliance & Controls: Establish payroll-related controls, ensure compliance with statutory requirements

  • Collaboration & Support: Partner with HR on payroll updates, provide employee portal assistance while supporting internal and external audits

  • Reporting & Process Improvement: Prepare payroll reports for Accounting and HR, manage banking activities, and support the automation of payroll processes


Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in payroll, multi-country payroll experience
  •  Proficiency in payroll/accounting software, strong Excel skills experience with ADP preferable
  • In-depth knowledge of country-specific payroll laws and regulations, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail, customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, teamwork orientation, and the ability to prioritize tasks under urgency
