Kate loves to keep fit, regularly enjoying CrossFit and its community aspects.

She also enjoys travelling and tries to travel as much as possible, having visited places such as Bali, Vietnam, Italy, Portugal, France, and Iceland. Kate previously lived in France for five years, spending the winters managing a nightclub in a French ski resort, and she loves to ski and snowboard.

She regularly spends time with a brilliant group of friends and is very close to her family. Kate adores her five-year-old apricot Cockapoo named Lola. Lola is her constant companion, accompanying her everywhere, and over the years, Kate has trained her to be the best pub dog!

Cooking is another activity she enjoys, using it as a form of therapy by mellowing out with music and cooking up a storm.

This role is based onsite three days a week, with two days from home. You will be responsible for the HR support to 300 employees based in the Netherlands, partnering closely with an extended EMEA HRBP team of three with the support of an additional admin function.

Responsibilities of HR Business Partner:
  • Partner closely with key stakeholders, coaching and influencing when needed
  • Keep up to date with ER processes and Dutch labour law
  • Manage HR projects locally and focus on both operation and strategic function needs
  • Ensure all HR systems are up to date
  • Review all HR processes and policies and make sure they are fit for purpose
  • Involvement in HR projects such as a Europe-wide L&D system overhaul and Tech, AI and system updates to ensure they are at the forefront of technology

Skills & Experience required:
  • A retail industry background or exposure to the sector in your career
  • Have around 5 years of HRBP level experience
  • Be comfortable operating in both Dutch and English day to day (verbal/written)
  • Have worked with and understand Dutch labour law

EMEA Recruitment has partnered with a commercial and busy professional services business in Amsterdam. The business is looking for a Payroll professional to join them on an ongoing interim basis, providing day-to-day support with a focus on an exciting project.

This is not a full-time position. It requires an experienced payroll professional with one or two a week available to expand their portfolio.

Responsibilities of Interim Payroll Contractor:
This role has two elements. 

Day to day: 
  • You will partner with the current Payroll Specialist to support them during the monthly period of processing the payroll (this is not outsourced)
  • Payroll calculations, managing deductions, taxes and benefits
  • Ensuring compliance with local labour law and tax regulations
Project:
  • Manage the process of bringing various payroll processes in-house
  • Partnering internationally to ensure the smooth running of the project

Experience required:
  • Worked with various EMEA-based payroll processes
  • Comfortable with the full payroll process including the payment to employees
  • Managed a similar project of bringing a payroll function ‘in-house’

  • Coach and upskill managers and leaders on employment legislation and best practice
  • Collaborate with the works councils on everything from team restructures, shift pattern changes, headcount increases/reductions and contractual changes, such as benefits and incentives
Experience required:
  • Experience operating in a similar position – focusing on employment law, work council relationships, and business partnering
  • Have the intellectual ability to ask the right strategic questions to stakeholders in order to understand the business needs
  • Ability to push back and influence when needed to set boundaries and ensure the desired outcome from negotiations
  • Experience with Dutch labor law
  • Ability to work in an English-speaking office with the addition of Dutch being a bonus
