Insight & Optimisation Director/Procurement & Supply Chain Recruiter

Mark joined EMEA Recruitment in January 2021, initially leading the finance team in Switzerland. He later moved into an Insight and Optimisation role, ensuring that we develop the right service offering for international companies across Switzerland, the Netherlands and the Nordics.

As our Insight & Optimisation Director, Mark utilises his 28+ years of recruitment experience and data management skills to provide customers with real-time insights into the current employment market. He ensures EMEA Recruitment is well placed and prepared to deliver the high-quality recruitment services that our international customers need and expect in these rapidly changing times.

As technology has evolved, Mark has become more focused on utilising data to increase efficiency and achieve better outputs.

In August 2024, Mark and Emma Marshall spearheaded our newly tailored offering for the Dutch Procurement and Supply Chain profession. He joined a talented South Netherlands team, working alongside colleagues specialising in Finance & Accounting and Human Resources recruitment focussed on clients based south of Schipol. 

Mark’s Interests

Mark is naturally very interested in data and analysis. He also enjoys football, comedy, travelling and food.

Combining both travel and food, Mark’s ideal holiday destination is Thailand, as he is fond of the fantastic beaches.

EMEA Recruitment is delighted to share details of an exciting new permanent procurement position at Nearfield Instruments in Rotterdam. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business in a fast-developing business sector.

The Company
Nearfield Instruments was founded in 2016 and has been on an exciting journey developing and delivering ground-breaking process control metrology solutions for the worldwide semiconductor industry.
The company has huge potential, demonstrated by the recent input of €135m funding from major global investment companies (view the article here).

The Role
Reporting to the Director Supply Chain Management and working as a member of the procurement, supply chain and logistics team, this position offers a high level of autonomy and impact for indirect (non-product related) procurement across the business.

Within the role, you will be focused on procurement activities across areas including research & development, IT services, facilities and HR, all of which will require you to build strong and productive relationships both within the business and externally.

Key tasks will include:
  • Supplier review, analysis and management through the building of strong relationships
  • Development of procurement processes and systems
  • Collection and review of quotations in collaboration with relevant functional colleagues

Currently, the role requires 5 days per week in the office. However, working patterns will be reviewed as the company grows and hybrid working may be available in the near future.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Significant experience in Indirect Procurement functions and processes
  • A proactive and innovative approach to challenges and solutions
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, both internal and external
  • Fluent English language skills
