IT Category Manager (Direct Procurement)

Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is supporting a global organisation in the technology sector that seeks an IT Category Manager based in Zurich, Switzerland.

In this strategic role, you will oversee the procurement and management of IT-related goods and services globally, including hardware, software, cloud solutions, and telecom.

You will develop sourcing strategies, build strong supplier relationships, and drive cost optimisation to support the organisation's business objectives.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate with the following skill set and experience:

• Educated to degree level, ideally in Supply Chain Management, IT, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in IT procurement, sourcing, or category management
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills with a focus on supplier performance and cost optimisation
• Experience managing total cost of ownership and mitigating supplier risks, including cybersecurity
• Proficient in English; knowledge of French or German is a strong advantage
• Certifications such as CIPS, CPM, or PMP and experience in a matrix organisation are highly desirable
