Our client is an international business known for providing innovative, high-quality solutions within a specialised manufacturing sector. EMEA Recruitment is assisting the company in its search for a Strategic Purchasing Manager.
Our client operates in a highly technical industry, working closely with various markets, including Automotive, Transportation, Electronics and Construction.
As the Purchasing Manager, you'll lead all procurement activities, particularly for raw chemical materials. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and the R&D team to drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure a sustainable supply chain.
Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager:
Develop and execute procurement strategies to secure cost-effective supply chains
Lead contract and price negotiations for medium to large-volume purchases
Build and manage supplier relationships to ensure a reliable and innovative supply chain
Oversee the introduction of alternative suppliers to optimise costs, lead times, and inventory levels
Support the sample approval process with cross-functional teams (Production, R&D, Sales)
Monitor global supplier markets to identify new trends and potential suppliers
The Strategic Purchasing Manager will have the following qualifications/ experience
A degree in Chemistry or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in strategic purchasing, preferably within the chemicals sector
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
Proven ability to optimise procurement processes and drive cost savings
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
