Head of Procurement Direct Materials New

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Procurement Direct Materials to join our manufacturing client.

Lead their European spend across Procurement, with a weighting towards Direct Materials used in the automotive manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities as Head of Procurement Direct Materials include:

• Drive Procurement activities and strategies to deliver upon wider business objectives
• Showcase excellent people skills, be able to connect strategic dots, understand commodity markets, and manage a team with cross-cultural capabilities
• Showcase Procurement expertise and understanding of market factors related to materials used in vehicle manufacturing
• Contribute to Procurement optimization projects and take Procurement within the business to the next level
• Bring cost savings through optimized Procurement methods - operate within the organization in a business partnering approach

The ideal candidate profile:

• Educated to degree or equivalent level, ideally in an Engineering or Supply Chain-related discipline
• Have 8+ years' experience in Procurement, with a focus on category management in Directs (Indirect exposure would also be an advantage)
• Hold technical knowledge of materials used in automotive and industrial manufacturing industries
• Have previously worked either regionally or globally in a multi-national organization
• Fluent in English, B2 level or above in German would be an advantage
