Job Description

We are working on an exciting new opportunity in collaboration with our client in seeking a Head of Operational Procurement. This is a great chance to join an established organization and a top tier Procurement team.

Please note: Fluent German language skills are a must for this role, as is previous experience in leading tactical and/or operational buying.

Key responsibilities as Head of Operational Procurement include:
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Buyers to ensure they can deliver upon category strategy objectives
  • Contribute to Procurement objectives, specifically across Indirect spend categories such as IT, market data, professional services, and HR/personnel services
  • Work with Category Leaders to assist in strategy development and then provide the guidance to execute on the tactical and operational side
  • Contribute to source-to-pay process and ongoing implementation
  • Think strategically while ensuring regional (EMEA) Procurement activities are aligned with the Category Managers
  • Untangle various stakeholder paths and Procurement transformation plans before creating a concrete roadmap on how to implement the Procurement delivery function

Your profile:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics or a related field
  • 10+ years of Procurement experience, ideally within the services industry
  • Proven track record in understanding tactical and operational buying across the indirect spend categories
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with a strategic and analytical mindset
  • Experience in risk management, cost modelling, and supplier governance frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in English and German
