Senior Accountant

Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is working with a growing biotech company. We are searching for a Senior Accountant to join the Zug office.

The Senior Accountant will maintain financial records in compliance with Swiss regulations, oversee period-end closing activities, and support VAT reporting. 

This position provides exposure to both accounting and controlling tasks in a dynamic environment with opportunities for professional development.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

• Manage the general ledger and sub-ledgers, including accounts payable, receivable, fixed assets, and accruals
• Ensure timely and accurate period-end closing, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Support VAT reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations
• Assist in financial analysis, budgeting, and management reporting to support business decision-making

• Ideally a chartered specialist in Accounting and Financial Management or equivalent qualification
• At least five years of experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within the life sciences sector
• Knowledge of Swiss VAT regulations and financial reporting under IFRS and Swiss Code of Obligations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and ERP systems
• Fluency in German and English
