Our client, a global industrial group, is seeking a Category Manager for Direct Materials.The business is currently in a significant growth phase and the Category Manager will be responsible for developing and driving the category strategy, coordinating buyers in various locations in Europe, managing supplier risk and implementing a multiple-sourcing strategy.
The role is located in Ludvika, Sweden.
The responsibilities of the Category Manager will include, but will not be limited to:
- Formulate long-term development strategies for categories
- Coordinate and execute the sourcing plan
- Cooperate with a team of buyers
- Foster trustful relationships with suppliers
- Meet with critical suppliers regularly
- Drive process improvements
- Identify and implement cost-reduction activities
Requirements:
- University degree in Business Administration or Engineering
- Proven track record in international strategic sourcing gained in a manufacturing environment
- Great communication skills
- Fluency in English and Swedish
- Strong data and analytics skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Traveling up to 15-20% across Europe
