Job Description

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Strategic Buyer Chemicals for our multinational client based near Schaffhausen.

As a Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for contributing to strategic objectives in the Sourcing division and bringing through best-in-class Procurement methods in this category.

Key responsibilities as Strategic Buyer Chemicals include:
  • Provide best-in-class solutions within the Sourcing area for the Raw Materials and Chemicals area
  • Being a key stakeholder support in the sourcing lifecycle - including driving sourcing, RFI, RFP, evaluation, drafting, contracting, onboarding, negotiations, supplier management, etc.
  • Deliver sourcing strategies and contribute to Commodity Risk Management assessments in order to provide high level Procurement expertise
  • Working with senior Procurement leaders in the business you will help build and execute Category Strategies, develop tools and ultimately deliver cost savings
  • Display commercial awareness and business acumen to contribute to the growth of the business and the services provided

For this Strategic Buyer Chemicals role, we are looking for high-calibre candidates with the following skill sets:
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree - a focus on Chemistry/Chemicals would be a plus
  • Ideally, 2+ years’ experience in managing/strategic procurement of Direct Materials Services and/or Raw Materials and Chemicals
  • Ability to utilize procurement and financial data to understand spending trends and to leverage information to identify procurement insights that result in process efficiencies and cost savings
  • Strong influencer who has the readiness to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
