Job Description

My client, a rapidly growing global FMCG business, seeks a Global Opex & Strategy Director across Global Footprint, Strategic Projects and Operational Capabilities.

As the Global Opex & Strategy Director, you will execute capital and strategic projects, enhance operational efficiency and build capabilities within the operations function.

You will liaise with leadership stakeholders on project progress, opportunities and the risks involved across the capital and strategic projects operations department.


This role is based in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Main Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for leadership & strategy development of Global Project Design Standards for equipment, capital projects, manufacturing warehouses and buildings
  • Manage 7 direct reports globally across programme management, engineering and OPEX continuous improvement while creating KPI scorecards for project delivery/visibility
  • Collaborate with Global Manufacturing and operations to plan and execute capital projects
  • Work closely with senior leadership to identify and prioritize multiple global strategic projects aligned with business goals, and develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements
  • Engage with key stakeholders and cross-functional leaders to understand their needs and requirements and incorporate feedback into operational improvement initiatives/project plans
  • Align both commercial and strategic objectives within manufacturing and operations teams
  • Lead the engineering and operational technical teams in the development and execution of capital projects, while also leading KPI development for engineering performance & projects

Candidate Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field MBA
  • 10 years of experience in operations management, process improvement, project management, or related roles - preferably in a complex organizational environment
  • Previously worked within capital projects/manufacturing across FMCG or manufacturing organisations
  • Excellent project management skills with a record of successfully leading and executing strategic projects
