Group Controller

Job Description

We are excited to recruit a Group Controller to lead and oversee the global financial operations of a dynamic FMCG company in Amsterdam. 

Reporting directly to the CFO, this leadership role is pivotal in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and transparency in financial reporting, accounting, forecasting and payroll, while driving strategic insights to enhance business performance. 

Your duties as Group Controller will include, but not be limited to: 

• Managing financial control processes, including analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial reports 
• Leading the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
• Evaluating budget performance and providing actionable recommendations to leadership
• Supervising payroll operations across European entities, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Establishing and maintaining robust internal controls (SOX) 
• Ensuring compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements
• Stakeholder management - working with the business, e.g. senior leadership team, external auditors 
• People management - guide and develop Finance and Payroll teams to enhance capabilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline - master’s degree preferred
• CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent certification 
• At least 5+ years in a similar senior Finance role, ideally in a multi-national setting
• Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, compliance standards, and financial reporting
• Advanced skills in budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience developing teams
• Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail
