Job Description

EMEA Recruitment is working with an international client in its search for an Accounting Controller to join their team in Slough.  

In this role, you will be the local finance leader who is the linking pin within the operational model, liaising with all relevant stakeholders, and helping meet the goals for finance as a whole.

The Accounting Controller has a pivotal role in ensuring consistent high-quality and timely group/business and statutory reporting for a set of relevant legal entities.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative team member, work cross-functionally, help optimise processes, and have a proactive approach.

Your responsibilities as the Accounting Controller:
  • Accountable for the periodic month reporting to the region
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, webFEM, local and statutory and fiscal requirements for the respective legal entities
  • The first point of local contact for the retained (finance) organization
  • Proactively inform the relevant local stakeholders on the outcome of the balance sheet review and indicate potential risks and opportunities
  • Accountable for the sign-off /review of the internal control-related processes
  • Responsible for the review, signing and filing of the statutory reporting
  • Initiate and implement cross-departmental improvements within the local finance

Experience required:
  • Bachelor's and master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Registered Accountant or similar certification
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • In-depth knowledge of financial accounting (processes, IFRS, webFEM)
  • Experience with ERP
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to adapt and meet deadlines
  • Fluent English
