EMEA Recruitment is delighted to work exclusively with a well-established, global FMCG company to recruit an experienced Senior VAT Compliance Specialist.

Operating across multiple international markets, the company is renowned for its innovative approach and commitment to excellence. With a strong focus on digital transformation and automation, the company is evolving its tax compliance framework and seeks a talented professional to drive efficiency in VAT processes.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior VAT Compliance Specialist: 

  • Oversee VAT compliance obligations across EMEA, ensuring accurate reporting and submission
  • Act as the primary contact for external providers to facilitate efficient VAT return preparation and reconciliation
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Sales, Supply Chain, and IT teams to ensure compliance
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of VAT-related settings in ERP systems (SAP or similar)
  • Provide tax guidance on new business initiatives, transactions, and digital transformation projects
  • Lead internal and external VAT audits, ensuring compliance with EMEA legislation
  • Contribute to automation projects aimed at streamlining VAT processes and enhancing efficiency
  • Assist in ad hoc tax and customs projects to support strategic business objectives


Key Requirements:

  • Accounting or audit background preferred; a relevant Accounting qualification is a plus
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Fluent in English; additional European language skills are advantageous
  • Experience in VAT compliance, reporting, and automation within a multinational corporation or a Big 4 tax consultancy firm
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and a strong understanding of tax technology and process improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
