Key Responsibilities of the Tax Specialist:

• Manage Tax Compliance Projects – Oversee local and international tax compliance, including corporate income tax, VAT, and wage tax filings

• Department Development – Ensure compliance with local guidelines and quality standards while growing and improving the tax compliance function

Skills and Experience:

• Key Skills & Attributes – Strong analytical, client-oriented mindset with a results-driven approach. Able to work with both local and international teams
• Experience – At least 3 years in tax compliance (mainly corporate income tax) at a large tax advisory firm or multinational
• Education & Language – Master\'s degree in Tax Law or Fiscal Economics; fluent in Dutch and English

EMEA Recruitment is working with a well-established international travel company. We are searching for a VAT & Compliance Associate to join the Zug office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting VAT compliance processes across multiple European jurisdictions, including preparing and submitting VAT and excise duty declarations, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring timely VAT payments and refunds.

This role also involves collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate VAT audits and compliance reviews.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and international environment within a growing company, where you will gain valuable experience in VAT and tax compliance while working closely with Finance and Treasury teams.

Key responsibilities of the VAT & Compliance Associate:

• Assist in preparing and submitting Swiss and EU VAT declarations, as well as Intrastat and excise duty filings
• Support VAT reconciliations and ensure accurate reporting of turnover and input VAT
• Work alongside the Treasury team to monitor VAT payments and refunds
• Provide support during VAT and customs audits, working closely with the Tax department

Your profile:

• 2-3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Tax, either in-house or within a tax advisory firm
• Eager to learn and open to occasional travel
• Fluent in English and German, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with NetSuite/Oracle is an advantage

• Corporate tax returns: Take ownership of corporate tax filings, ensuring all deadlines are met and processes are optimized
• Backlog management: Clear a backlog of tax returns, implementing efficient systems to prevent future delays
• CFC returns for Germany: Lead the preparation and submission of Controlled Foreign Corporation (CFC) returns for German operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations
• Stakeholder liaison: Collaborate with third-party advisors and internal stakeholders to deliver seamless coordination and support for complex tax matters
• Process improvements: Identify opportunities to streamline tax reporting and compliance processes for future efficiency

Who are we looking for?

• Experienced in corporate tax: Strong knowledge of corporate tax compliance, both locally in the Netherlands and internationally (Germany is a big plus!)

EMEA Recruitment is partnering with a leading retail company to recruit a Manager of Income Tax based in Utrecht, Netherlands.

As the Manager of Income Tax Accounting & Reporting, you will oversee Corporate Income Tax (CIT) accounting and compliance for over 20 European and Asian legal entities. You will also manage tax processes, ensure compliance, and support tax audits and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely local CIT and trade tax compliance
• Oversee third-party preparation and review of CIT returns
• Act as the primary contact for external tax service providers
• Support tax audits and manage tax payments, forecasts, and tracking
• Maintain accurate tax accounts in the general ledger
• Manage monthly account reconciliations

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in corporate tax or a Big 4 tax consultancy
• Proficiency in CIT compliance, advanced Excel, and tax accounting
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills
• Experience with US-owned companies and tools like PeopleSoft/OneSource is a plus
• Fluent in English; other EU languages are a bonus
