Key responsibilities of the Director of Tax:

• Oversee the group’s global tax structure, focusing on digital and streamlined solutions for efficiency and compliance

• Lead the group’s tax accounting and manage the effective tax rate, playing a crucial role in financial reporting
• Guide M&A transactions from a tax perspective and coordinate with other teams on related analysis and follow-up actions

Your profile:

• Degree in Law or Finance
• Strong background in international tax and tax management, with a particular strength in corporate tax compliance
• Proven experience with tax accounting, including managing complex tax issues with minimal oversight
• Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and engage across a complex organizational structure

Due to team growth, EMEA Recruitment is exclusively looking for a Tax Specialist to support our client’s companies in the Netherlands.

You will join their dynamic and driven team of 3 in Amsterdam at their EMEA headquarters.

This Tax Specialist role will suit someone with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience such as Dutch corporate income tax, transfer pricing and Dutch VAT.
As a Tax Specialist, you will have the freedom to manage your workload and growth opportunities within the business.

This is a full-time position with a hybrid working model of 4 days in the office, and 1 day from home.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with annual and biannual global tax provision processes
• Dutch company tax reporting packages
• Support Dutch financial statements with preparing Dutch corporate income tax calculations
• Dutch corporate income tax returns
• Prepare and file Dutch VAT returns and Intrastat declarations
• Monitor, collect and review data for transfer pricing processes
• Contribute to the preparation and calculation reviews for intercompany transactions
• Help with other tax-related matters and duties

The ideal candidate:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Fluent in Dutch and English languages – speaking, reading and writing
• Related education in Fiscal Economics, Fiscal Law or similar
• Approachable, open minded, team player and flexibility are important attributes
• Highly proficient in MS Office package

• Liquidity Management: Oversee global cash flow and ensure efficient allocation of funds to meet the operational needs of the business
• Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and credit risks, while implementing effective hedging strategies

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in treasury or corporate finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a complex, global organisation
• Proven experience managing liquidity, capital structure, and financial risk on a global scale
• Strong understanding of treasury management systems and financial instruments
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations
• Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACT, or equivalent are highly desirable
• Fluency in English is required

• Oversee and manage international tax compliance, coordinating with foreign tax (Europe, Canada, Japan, Taiwan & Brazil) preparers and external partners to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Lead global tax planning initiatives, identifying tax implications of business strategies and providing informed advice to business partners
• Ensure effective tax rate management, integrating international tax compliance with overall tax accounting processes
• Monitor and respond to changes in tax laws, ensuring the company’s compliance and adapting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance and treasury, to optimize tax strategies and support global operations

• Master’s degree in Taxation or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in international tax, ideally within a multinational environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English, and comfortable interacting with various levels of management
• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and the ability to maintain rigorous internal controls

• 5-10 years of experience in tax compliance, ideally within multinational environments or public accounting
• Familiarity with international tax laws, including transfer pricing and cross-border transactions
• Strong project management skills and experience collaborating with legal, finance, and external stakeholders
