Further to the success of our “Finance of the Future” programme of events, we are pleased to continue the theme, with a CFO Roundtable event coming up in Morges on 20th February 2020.
Accounting may not traditionally be considered a hotbed for innovation – but why shouldn’t it be? At its base, innovation is about solving problems and continuous improvement. In a profession dominated by spreadsheets and manual tasks, the opportunities for change seem endless.
Our event will be co-hosted with Salesforce and will be targeted towards CFOs and Senior Finance Leaders, looking to learn from peers and discuss advances in this arena.
We will hear from Stéphane Jacottet, EMEA & LATAM Financial Controller at Salesforce, discussing finance process digitalisation and the use of collaborative tools. Also, Luca Raffaelli, Head of Group Controlling and Risk Management at BOBST will be sharing experiences and demonstrations of smart automation, descriptive analytics and advanced analytics (modelling) using open-source tools, and explaining the ‘real-life’ impact on the controlling processes at BOBST.

Every organisation has a vision as to what will create a better, more productive working environment. A better world. Yet, while focusing on our strategic goals and direction, how many of us celebrate diversity as a core organisational value, recognising and utilising the full richness of all segments of society?
To be highly effective, organisations must also link diversity to inclusiveness and empowerment.
Empowerment represents the ability of individuals to be the best they can be and to participate fully with the freedom to do so, allowing them to achieve their full potential and control their own destinies.

Huge thanks to all who attended our event 'Equality in Business - Best Practice in Diversity & Inclusion’ event last week in Zurich.
The event was co-hosted with EF Education First and held at their wonderful offices, the old Swiss stock exchange building - an amazing setting.
Many thanks to our inspiring speakers Liz Johnson, Paralympian Gold Medallist, Heidi Robertson, Head of Global Diversity & Inclusion at ABB, Alkistis Petropaki, General Manager of Advance, Gender Equality in Business, and Marc Secretan, Partner and Inclusion and Diversity Leader at PwC Switzerland.
Liz Johnson shared some quotes which really struck a chord:
“Why should we choose to be great at work OR great at home.”
and
“Being different is a strength.”
What a privilege to follow on from our Equality in Finance event with HEINEKEN in Amsterdam, held towards the end of last year.
This event in Zurich was attended by contacts from our network of mid to senior management professionals across Finance, BI & Data, Human Resources, Procurement & Supply Chain and Operations.
The large number of attendees was representative of the level of interest in this topic. Discussion, both during the event and throughout networking afterwards, was thought-provoking and heartfelt, and we hope that all attendees were able to take something away - from both the breadth of presentation content and the personal interactions.
If you are interested in attending future events or are perhaps working for a business which could be interested in co-hosting with us, then please don't hesitate to contact Rose Jinks, Marketing Manager, at: [email protected]
What better place to host an event in Amsterdam than the top floor of the Heineken Experience! Yesterday evening we were delighted to co-host an event on ‘Equality and Inclusion in Finance' along with HEINEKEN and PAiE (Professional Accountants in Europe) with mid-to-senior level finance professionals in attendance, from a wide range of different global businesses.
CFO of Heineken and Member of the Executive Board, Laurence Debroux, delivered an engaging presentation around the approach and steps that Heineken are taking towards equality and her own experiences of climbing to success in finance.
Next, we heard from Susannah Rodgers MBE, British Paralympic swimmer and gold medallist who is also Young Global Leader with the World Economic Forum. Susie gave us a fascinating insight into the determination of an athlete and the transferable performance tools that she finds useful.
The final presentation was from Shana Laurie de Hernandez, Partner and Retail & Consumer Leader for PwC Europe, who told us about the Equal Salary certification which is now offered and PwC's approach to pay fairness.
Shana then also led a group discussion, encouraging attendees to discuss amongst themselves the key attributes that an inclusive leader should have. Elements such as openness, flexibility, recognition and transparency were discussed as being key.
Thank you to HEINEKEN for welcoming us to the Heineken Experience and to all those in attendance, an interactive and engaging evening for all.
